Tamara Acevedo is proud to be the Chief Academic Officer for the Colorado Springs District 11 School District. She has over 26 years of experience in public education serving as an educator, Mathematics Content Specialist, Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator, assistant principal, principal, instructional Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. She has supported staff and students to reach rigorous learning goals, provide challenging learning experiences to all students so that all students achieve at high levels and have career and college success.
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University of Colorado and a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Denver University. She has participated in instructional and organizational leadership programs including the Council of Great City Schools, Aspen Institute, EdLead and Leverage Leadership Institute fellowships and The University of Virginia Turnaround Partnership for Leaders in Education.
